Grey Bruce Pipe Organ of the Year Concert
The Grey Bruce Centre of the RCCO will honor the Breckels & Matthews pipe organ at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Wiarton with the Grey Bruce Pipe Organ of the Year Award 2026 on September 16. The event features a recital by renowned organist Norman Reintamm and guest cellist Aare Tammesalu. Built in March 1906, this organ is one of the few preserved from the company and has received recognition from the Historic Organ Committee of the RCCO and the Organ Historical Society. Reintamm, based in Hamilton, has performed across Europe and North America, while Tammesalu, a founding member of the Tobias String Quartet, is known for his performances at prestigious festivals. They will present a program including works by composers like Bach and Brahms, showcasing the synergy between organ and cello. This event highlights the remarkable instrument and the historic church's acoustics, celebrating its craftsmanship.
