GET TO KNOW YOUR SERGER

Wednesday, October 18, 2023 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Cost: $75

A serger is an extremely useful machine for most sewing projects, but with its complicated threading mechanisms, it can be a little intimidating. Join this afternoon workshop to familiarize yourself with your serger. From threading to different types of edging, this workshop will take the mystery out of using a serger for a wide variety of sewing projects. Participants will complete a set of four rolled-hem napkins by the end of the workshop. Participants will need: 4 to 6 pieces of 12" squares (cotton or linen woven fabric) for napkins, 3 spools of matching serger thread, fabric shears, and dressmaker’s chalk or fabric pencil. GB Arts will provide scrap woven and knit fabrics for practice serging. To get the most from this workshop, please make sure your serger is threaded and working before attending. If you need help threading your serger, please arrive half an hour early. Bring your manual and serger tools if you have them.
