Grey Roots Museum & Archives preserves and celebrates the history of Grey County, which Owen Sound is part of, with exhibits, events and interactive programs. Open year-round, it includes a gift shop, movie theatre, and heritage village (open June to September).
The museum offers dozens of events, from hands-on workshops, tours and lecture series to delightful festivals such as the Chinese New Year Celebration, Emancipation Festival, Moreston by Candelight and the Pratie Oaten Irish festival.
Moreston Heritage Village, beside the main facility, is a great place to learn about or relive days gone by. Wander at your own pace talking with costumed volunteers about life in pioneer days and at the turn of the 19th century, exploring log cabins, an old school house, beautifully restored cars, heritage gardens and a working blacksmith shop.
Grey Roots has several exhibits on display at any given time. Find out what's on before you go by visiting their website or by calling
